Wrap Solutions and Geekhouse BikesApril 27th, 2011

Two Sites launched last month! These are both great companies and returning customers. Check em out at www.geekhousebikes.com and www.wrapsolutions.net. These are also in my portfolio with short descriptions.

There’s more! Seriously I’ve been working my ass off lately. Bar-B-Que Barns Site is coming along, this is a big one. This is a full Blown ecommerce site with all the bells and whistles along with complete Grill inventory lists descriptions and gallery’s. More Details soon. Launching Mid-May

There’s more! I know I know, but really. I’ll also will be making a site for a dentists office in New Hampshire. This is still in the preliminary talks so expect to hear more in late may.

Finally Hawk Concepts is going to Cycling. Mainly I want to make a cyclocross stem with a cable holder. This way there’s no ugly cable hanger wrapped around your steerer tube. This will likely be a one off unless I get a lot of interest once the first one is complete. It’s going to be styled like a BMX Stem and I think its going to be pretty slick.

    January UpdateJanuary 20th, 2011

First things first, the speedometer prototype I’ve been working on is done. I still need to get pictures of it and I will soon but until then I have some other news.

Velocity Stacks! That’s right I’m getting into 3D CAD and CNC machining. These will fit the vary small Carbs that DCC sells. There’s none out there and I’ve made it my mission to get some made up. I’ve got them all worked out in cad as well as a clamp to keep them on. I’ll post pictures when I get the first one machined. I’m still working on some of the logistics.

New Geekhouse site! Also a huge project I’m working on. We’re updating the site to include an Estore among many other cool things. keep your eyes peeled for a launch as soon as March.

      Quick Prototype UpdateJanuary 7th, 2011

So when creating something that’s really just an idea in your head there’s bound to be flaws in the first design.. This what I’m currently dealing with.

-I’ve decided I want to “button up” the back of the speedometer. But I already cut the leather short so that needs to be redone.

-Then in trying to find a way to make the dial fit the big ring where you can see through the plexi-glass I messed up the glass when gluing a bit of rubber around it so you can’t see the guts of the speedometer. That didn’t work out.. Looks way to sloppy for my taste so back to the drawing board. I’m thinking maybe I can bend a pipe to the same diameter as the dial then cut it in half and then I’ll have a nice smooth transition to the dial. Rubber looked good but I want it to be a bit cleaner looking and I can always go back to that if it doesn’t work out.

Hawk Concepts and Dime City CyclesJanuary 5th, 2011

Well, here we go! I recently started design making and finishing indicator panels for classic motorcycles. Why? because they are cool. And they are quickly becoming popular all over the world. I made these to replace the old classic, clunky indicator lights that came with the bikes. You can check these out on www.dimecitycycles.com under the boutique category under Hawk Concepts.

So, Now that I have these 2 models up for sale its time to make some new prototypes. Its still a work in progress and I’ll continue to update as I continue fabrication.

Top view with plexiglass and top panel.

Side view with vegi-tanned leather and 440 screws holding the leather and metal sheet onto the panel

Next up: I need to make brackets to hold the bottom onto the sides, these need to be removable so Its going to take some thought. Then I need to fill in the inner section between the rim of the plate and the speedometer (still thinking about how I’m going to do this). Then I need to add lights and make that honda text glow.

          Geekhouse Racing Cowbell APP (update)November 18th, 2010

So as it is now, I’m waiting for a book to be published better spelling out how to use AS3 and Air to create Droid apps. I have also heard that it will soon be possible to use the same method to create iPhone apps. So that may be in order as well. But for now this one’s moving to the back burner and will be ready for next season in September.

            Bills Audio WebsiteNovember 18th, 2010

My old colleague Bill Mueller contacted me recently to redesign his current site. He know a lot of HTML so all I need to do is make a template that he can fill in. This is possible for anyone with basic HTML knowledge and can be a lot cheaper than building an entire site.

Here’s the template in the design phase, He wanted something simple and clean but with fun colors and a little character instead of a logo. So I drew him holding some cables.

Geekhouse Racing Cowbell APPNovember 5th, 2010

              Geekhouse bikes APP
There’s an APP for that! I’m sure some of us are sick of hearing that.. Including me… But this is an important app for Googles Android OS. Its an idea me and a few of my teammates have had for awhile, but I wasn’t sure about coding it having never codded anything for Android. Recently after some research about how to go about making it I found out I can use AS3 and Flash to create Android APPs. So Here’s a screenshot I came up with that show’s what the application will look like. I’m hoping to start it asap, but I need to do some research on accessing the accelerometer for the bell.

Basically it will include a “cow bell” for ringing at cyclocross racers as well as a camera for quick shots as the teammates roll by. I’m not hoping to have it done until the end of cross season but it will be ready to ring for next season.

                New Site!!!November 2nd, 2010

After many changes I finally have the site that I wanted 3 years ago. If you see any flaws or glitches I’d like to hear about them so I can fix them ASAP. So, browse around, check out my portfolio or download my resume and let me know what you think!

I’ll be posting here every so often to provide updates on projects and anything else I’m involved in (I’m hoping to do a short run of one of my illustrations on some shirts and maybe some prints). Also, the new geekhouse jerseys have been destroying the competitions eyes since the beginning of September. Check them out in my portfolio page.
